How far along: 26 weeks !
Trimester: Last month of the Second Trimester!!!
Baby size: An English hothouse cucumber- 14 inches and 2 pounds! Getting bigger and bigger, which can be seen by my ever growing belly!
Toes: They're getting harder and harder to see every day.
Gender: BABY GIRL!
Movement: She keeps moving and flipping, but I can tell it's getting harder for her to move. I'm beginning to notice a pattern to her movements as well.
Cravings: Food. Please. Food. I just need food! My sweet tooth has picked up, though it could be because there are so many yummy sweet treats that are fall-iscious.
Aversions: I've tried chicken, and it's okay...still not my favorite though.
Nausea/Morning sickness: No more! Just tired now, and constantly out of breath. Round ligament pain, itchy and stretchy skin, heartburn, acid re-flux, some slight dizziness, and hip and back pain, but nothing to complain about :) Also, I'm beginning to experience Braxton Hicks contractions.
Maternity clothes: Yes yes and yes. I love them. I'm definitely one of those women who is proud to wear my maternity pants. They're just too comfortable to pass up.
Best moment of the week: Your daddy got to really feel you kick this week. It was a very special moment and I was so happy that he could experience just a little bit of what I feel many times throughout the day.
What I'm looking forward to: The Apple Festival this weekend with dear friends! I'm so excited to get out and enjoy this cool weather.
I feel like recently my stomach has grown exponentially. And I'm loving it! I mean there's no denying I'm pregnant with this little basketball belly. Of course, I know I'm only going to get bigger from here, but I welcome it. I love my ever-growing belly. It's fun to dress up, and it shocked me when I went to put on one of my "small" t-shirts and it barely covered my stomach! Once again, I love it!!

Oh, it's so special to have your hubby be able to interact with baby through the tummy! Before W was born we had a time like that too where he was pushing against my stomach really hard, and Derek got to feel his little foot really well - it was fun!
ReplyDeleteSo, I wanted to respond to your comment about cloth diapers on my blog - I've only ever done pocket diapers, so I don't have alot of advice on prefolds - is there any particular reason you are thinking of using the prefolds? I just ask because I know prefolds are usually one of the cheaper options, but if you are interested in trying pockets, I'd recommend trying Sunbaby diapers. They are made in China (not sure how I feel about that), BUT they are super-cheap. You have to order them 12 at a time, but for 12 of them, including microfiber inserts, it's $60. And the shipping is free, so it comes out to about $5 per diaper. Most of the other brands of pockets that I've found are somewhere from 10-20+ dollars each, so that's a really good price!
I've tried several different brands of pocket diapers, and the Sunbaby diapers are actually my favorite anyway, and so it's nice that they also happen to be the cheapest! So if cost is your reason for looking at prefolds, it might be worth it to check Sunbaby out . . . the prefolds themselves are cheaper, but then you have to buy covers and Snappi's or some sort of fastener to use with them too, so in the end it might end up being about the same price. If you decide you do want to do the prefolds though, this seemed like a good article on what to look for as far as quality and such:

And this was a good article on how you can use them:

I'm sorry I can't give you more specific advice as far as prefolds go, I hope something here helps! :-)
so sweet. I love the picture and letter at the top <3

I wish I had a comment about cloth diapers, but we're not that cool over here, unfortunately. BUT I think you're a super cute pregnant lady! I remember when my husband felt our first kick for the very first time and his face just lit up. Seriously the best.

My belly also went through a huge growth spurt and I did the same thing with a small t-shirt. My reaction was not thrilling like yours...I had a slight meltdown that nothing fit me anymore...but it was made ok by me going out and actually buying some maternity shirts haha. That's really sweet about your husband and the kicks!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet letter you wrote at the beginning of this post!
