Silent Sunday

Happy Easter friends!

I'm so thankful for this smiley Bug! She's such a joy to get to spend every day with and I love watching her grow and develop her own personality. I'm so curious and excited to see her become a big sister! I know she's going to be amazing, but for now I'm soaking up as much time one-on-one with my girl that I can!

An Update: Bug

I feel with all this talk about my pregnancy, my beautiful princess has fallen by the wayside. It's hard to believe that she's almost 15 months! Where has all the time gone? She's gotten so big overnight it seems! I really want to put a heavy book on her head and slow this whole growing up thing down.

Right now, allergies seem to be plaguing her like nothing else has. Last Friday she woke up gasping for breath. I never thought I'd be thankful for the bout of RSV she had back in December, but had she not had it, we would have spent Friday in the ER. You see, what happened was, both the hubs and I woke up to a funny sound over the monitor. I couldn't really place it, I knew it was her breathing but it sounded strange. Do you know how a child sounds after they've pitched a fit and are gasping for breath? That's what she sounded like, only she hadn't been crying. The hubs goes in and checks on her and the next thing I hear is "get dressed, she can't breathe." Mom mode kicked in. I grabbed my girl and rushed to the living room where her breathing treatment was. Asthma attack. It sounded like an asthma attack. Now, she's never had asthma before, so I have no idea where it came from. But I knew what needed to be done. I immediately get the nebulizer going and held her as I let the breathing treatment work it's magic. After that she calmed down and her breathing returned to normal. I called her pediatrician and got in first thing that morning. Her lungs were clear and everything checked out "normal," all we can figure out was a possible allergy attack. The pollen count was high the day before and she spent a TON of time outside. Since then, she's been really stuffy and snotty, but no more breathing scares.

See why I'm thankful for the RSV? Without the RSV, we wouldn't have had the nebulizer and things might not have turned out as well as they did.

But enough of the dramatics. I have adorable pictures of my girl to share with you!

On a random pretty day, we were able to get out and go for a nature walk. This little girl discovered dirt and loved playing in it!

She was so excited to be able to get out and walk and explore on her own!

Sink baths have become our new favorite thing to do! Playing in the water as it comes out of the faucet seems to bring her so much joy! I love being able to do this with her, plus it's easy on this preggo mommy's back.

With the weather getting warmer (hello Summer, where did Spring go?) we've been spending our mornings outside soaking up as much sun as we can! Bug's new favorite thing is to grab our hands and pull us to the door to signify going outside. Or she'll go get her socks and shoes and bring them to us. This little girl LOVES being outside.

Is there anything cuter than a bubble butt and baby leg rolls? I mean, seriously?! Such a happy girl, once again, it's because we're playing outside.

Time

My baby girl will be 11 months tomorrow...where has the time gone?

04 December 2013

10 Months!

Again...better late than never
(she was 10 months November 17)

weight: 21 lbs 6 oz
height: 28 1/4 in (I know she's grown, but I don't know how much)
eating: nursing 3-4 times a day and 3 meals of solids a day
floor time: crawling, standing, getting into everything
happiness: she is such a happy baby! we are so blessed!
loves: her mommy, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, peek-a-boo, Jake and the Neverland Pirates, music, standing, and eating
sleep: we're down to two naps a day and still sleeping through the night!
first word: MAMA! second word: DADA! and she's continually stringing sounds together!

I could seriously eat her up! She's so funny. Her favorite room in the house is the bathroom. Why? I don't know, but she loves sneaking in there! And bath time is her favorite.

She's so active and always keeping us on our toes.

We've had a wide range of temperatures here in Georgia, so we've used our fireplace a good bit. I love having a fire. We've blocked the area off with ottomans and such, so far Bug has been good about ignoring the fire.

We went to our first wedding (my cousin's). She was a complete angel! I was so proud of her. And she was pretty darn cute in that outfit!

Dear Bug,
You simply amaze us. You're growing up way too fast, and it makes us sad. But we love watching you grow up and discover new things. You make these cold days warm with your snuggles. I love your giggles and the way you've started to play. I can't stop thinking about just how blessed I am to have you in my life. You are truly amazing and your daddy and I love you so incredibly much!

9 Months! (better late than never)

(Bug was officially 9 months on the 17th...hence, the better late than never)

weight: 20 lbs 10.5 oz
height: 28 1/4 in
eating: nursing 4 times a day and 3 meals of solids a day
floor time: crawling, standing, getting into everything
happiness: for the most part, she's a happy, happy girl, unfortunately she has her first ear infection and hasn't been quite herself lately.
loves: her mommy, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, peek-a-boo, Jake and the Neverland Pirates, music, her piano, standing, and eating
sleep: we're down to two naps a day and still sleeping through the night!
first word: MAMA! second word: DADA!

She's such a cutie pie! I'm so blessed to be her mommy! I feel like she's growing like a weed and I'm ready for her to slow down.

She got her first major boo boo this month. Her first black eye. It was so sad! I turn my back for one second, she slips, falls, and collides with the foot of a table at church. I was amazed at how quickly it bruised! She must have hit it just right.

We took a family day and went apple picking up in North Georgia. It was wonderful walking around and enjoying the beautiful weather.

Another fall tradition is the Apple Festival. We wandered around and hung out with some friends. It was good seeing everyone and laughing.

My girl loves finding windows and looking out. We've had beautiful weather here in Georgia and have dutifully taking advantage of it! Of course, right now it's in the low 50s with the low tonight is in the mid 30s and extremely windy (tomorrow night the low is in the 20s...in October...in Georgia...WHAT IS THIS WEATHER!?). But we're still taking advantage of the fresh air. I'm hoping it'll help Bug get better quicker.

You can tell here that she wasn't really feeling well. Bug has her first ear infection. Sunday night on our way home from the Apple Festival she started coughing just a little. When she woke up Monday morning we could just tell something was off. My poor girl. She's such a trooper though! I would have never guessed that she had an ear infection!

I love my little girl so incredibly much! I can't believe in just 3 short months (really less) she'll be one year old! I'll have a toddler! What is this about?! I can't really think about it without crying. She's just growing up so quickly!

Dear Bug,
Girl, you are such a trooper! I am so proud of how you've dealt with all the bumps and bruises that have come your way! They might make this mama cry, but you take it all with a smile on your face. You're personality continues to blossom and amaze me more and more every day! I love watching you grow up, though if I had it my way, you'd slow down just a little bit.

Mommy and Daddy

17 September 2013

8 Months!

weight: maybe 21 lbs? We haven't gotten a chance to weigh her.
height: around 28 in long!
eating: nursing 4 times a day and 3 meals of solids a day
floor time: SHE'S CRAWLING! And all over the place! She's absolutely into everything. She's also pulling up on everything too!
happiness: She is such a happy baby. We are beyond blessed!
loves: her mommy, teething toys, car rides, peek-a-boo, Jake and the Neverland Pirates, music, her piano, standing, playing in her crib, and eating
sleep: we're down to two naps a day and still sleeping through the night!
first word: MAMA! second word: DADA!

She has gotten so big this month! All this crawling. It's crazy! She's officially into everything and loving it. I have to chase her everywhere. Thank goodness our house isn't too big, because she sure is giving me a run for my money.

It's finally beginning to cool down outside, so we've been trying to soak it up. We hung up her swing today and spent the day playing in the backyard. She loved it! It was fun listening to her giggling as we pushed her.

Bug loves her daddy. She giggles and giggles with him, as long as I'm still in the room.

We got to go to the lake for Labor Day Weekend. You can see that recap here. It was so much fun! We had a great weekend. It was here that Bug started crawling!

Dear Bug,
You are getting to be such a big girl! Where has all this time gone?! Can you please slow down? Every time we turn around you grow and change. I'm absolutely loving this stage you are in right now. You're curious about everything and want to know what is going on around you at all times. It's really fun. You also hate it when we're eating and you're not, so we have to make sure to have snacks for you whenever we're snacking. It just makes me laugh. You sure do love your food and always want to try whatever we're eating. You are seriously a joy, Bug. We are so blessed to have you in our life.

6 Month Photo Shoot

I captured Bug's half birthday while we were in Texas.

This one is by far my favorite. I just love that little poochy lip!

And now for a quick comparison:

She's getting so big so fast! Can time please slow down! She's definitely developing her own little personality. I just love how it comes through in her pictures.

Then and Now

I found these boots for our maternity shoot and just fell in love with them! I love red boots! In fact, I own a pair myself, so I just had to get these for my little Bug.

The other day I was playing around and found that she fits into them now! This made for an impromptu photo shoot with Mommy and Baby.

I love that we're matching :) It's hard to believe that I bought her those little boots when I was around 37/38 weeks pregnant. Now, at 4 months, she's wearing them! She's officially getting too big. Can time please slow down? I'm trying to do more impromptu photo shoots with my girl to capture all the stages in her life. Tomorrow, I'll have to do a photo dump of all the pictures. She's been a good sport...for the most part. But I guess that's what you get for having a shutter-bug for a mommy.
