Intentional Living

As a new mom, life takes on a new meaning. A new purpose. A new responsibility. A new life.

I want live with an intentional, joy seeking heart.

I want to look for the good in life, despite all the tragedy that surrounds.
I want to be wise with my time.
I want to be healthy.
I want to exercise.
I want to watch less tv and listen to more music.
I want to put more into my relationships.
I want to enjoy life.
I want to see the beauty that is all around.
I want to dance with my daughter.
I want to rock my baby to sleep.
I want to be a Proverbs 31 wife.
I want to spend more time growing in my relationship with my Heavenly Father.
I want to live the life He has planned for me.
I want to smile.
I want to laugh.
I want to love.

Living intentionally. Living with a purpose.

That is my goal.

Prayers for Boston

On a day like today I can't imagine letting my little one out of my sight. I just want to cuddle her and hold her and protect her from the world and the tragedy that is out there. I know that is impossible. I cannot protect her. But I do know some One who can. The same One who gave her to me to care for and love. Only He can protect her, and all of us, during times like this. It is He that I turn to when I am scared or weak. He is the only One that can take care of us. It is Him that I lean on now, and it is He that I pray to asking for strength and peace for the people of Boston and all those effected by this tragedy.

So hold on to the ones you love and remember that God has you in His hands and He loves you so much!

3 years

This past Wednesday was our 3 year anniversary. However, being the life that we lead we couldn't make any time on the actual day to do something. So we planned to wait until the weekend to do something special. The original idea was to go for a hike and have a picnic, but weather was a little iffy. So then it was trying to decide where to go out to eat. Now, we're on a really tight budget, so our options were extremely limited. We still hadn't made up our minds when we got a surprise gift card to the Cheesecake Factory (thanks Mom and Dad!). So it was decided. Our first dress up date night since our anniversary last year. Let me tell you, it was special and wonderful and it was such a great time. The weather was perfect, so we sat outside on the patio, and the food was even better!

It was a wonderful evening to spend with a wonderful man.

He got the Jambalaya pasta dish, and said it was amazing.

I got the steak Diane. Sooooo good!

Tiramisu Cheesecake

I wanted the classic topped with strawberries. It was the perfect way to end the evening.

Does that cheesecake not look divine?!

Happy to be spending the day with the man I love.

I Do

3 years ago today, my husband and I were up with the sunrise just to say those 2 special words..."I do."

My life changed for the better that day. I married the love of my life and from that day on I knew I would get to spend the rest of my life with this man.

Since then we have bought our house, moved cities, and now we're starting our family.

I couldn't found a better partner to share life with. He is a wonderful husband and is going to be a great father. I am seriously the luckiest girl on the planet to have him by my side for this journey that we're on. He is truly God's perfect match for me. Together we have faced hardships, and I know many more will come our way. But no matter what, we'll face those hardships together. With God as our anchor we can weather any storm that comes our way. I am so blessed to be married to the man of my dreams, a man so who so willingly loves me, spoils me, and cherishes me.

I love you honey. Here's to many more anniversaries to share together. You are truly the man of my dreams and my perfect mate. I love you hubs, more than you will ever know!

Love is in the air...

Well, there wasn't too much hoopla yesterday. The hubs has small group with church on Tuesday nights and works after that, so our evening was condensed into about 30 minutes.

I cooked him his favorite meal and it was ready by the time he got home from his first job. And so was his present. I gave him a book filled with 12 date nights - 1 for each month. I found this link on Pinterest and, as I was having a hard time coming up with ideas, this sounded like the perfect thing to do for Valentine's Day. I made it my own though, and mixed up some "stayin' in" date nights and some "goin' out" date nights. Doing this was a stretch for me, as I don't like to be the one to come up with the dates. That's supposed to be his job. Right? Well. I decided to step out of my comfort zone. I'm excited to see what all ends up going on and how he enjoys them!

I placed all our "date cards" in a photo album, and part of the plan is to capture these date nights on camera and replace the date cards with the pictures. This way we'll have the memories for years to come. And who knows, if all goes well, maybe we'll make this a yearly thing! Anyway, our first "date" is at the end of the month, so I'll let you know how it goes!

He got me the traditional my two favorites: red roses and Reese's Cups. My husband knows me so well. However, I'm about to hide these Reese's before I get too fat off of them.

So, while the hubs had small group I got to work in my new organized craft room. It was a lovely evening full of sewing, Cinderella, and the all important and amazing Doctor Who. All-in-all it was a wonderful night and I'm completely happy with the way things turned out!
